KX Pilates is a 50-minute dynamic reformer workout, powered by our KXFormer, that adds resistance to every movement.
Each class is guided by an expert trainer and designed to build strength, improve mobility and enhance the way you move every day.
Whether you're new to reformer or years into it, our classes are designed to meets you where you are at.
Yes, you have to be over 16 to attend a KX pilates class. Our method of training and class delivery is designed for the adult population group rather than youth. Teaching 16 years and younger is not something we cater for in a group class setting.
All KX Pilates classes are 50 minutes long. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early, especially for your first class, so you can get set up on the Reformer and meet your trainer.
You can book classes through the KX Pilates app, our website, or by contacting your local studio directly. Simply select your studio, choose a class time, and confirm your booking.
Classes must be cancelled at least 9 hours before your class starts, through the app or by giving your studio a call. Cancellations after that window mean you will lose your class credit.
We offer a range of membership and class pack options to suit your lifestyle. From fortnightly memberships to flexible class packs, there's an option for everyone. Speak to the team to your local studio and they will be happy to help you find the right option for you.
Yes, you can freeze your membership for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 30 days. Freezes can be requested through the app or by contacting your studio. Some conditions apply depending on your membership type.
Our Intro Offer is designed to help you discover how KX Pilates fits into your lifestyle and become part of your routine. Real results come from consistency, not just one workout. By experiencing multiple classes over a set period, you'll explore our range of class styles, trainers and class times, making it easier to find the routine that suits your schedule, supports your goals and sets you up for long-term success. Check your local studio for current Intro Offer details.
It depends how far along you are. If you are new to KX Pilates, we ask that you not start our classes until after your pregnancy. For current clients, you can attend group classes but only until you’re 13 weeks along. After this, due to our dynamic movement and faster pace class, you can no longer attend group classes. This is also the recommendation given to us from the RANCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists), as we teach a lot of dynamic stretching, supine and prone exercises which are not suitable for pregnant clients.
We do however recommend you either have a private session or attend our Pre/Post natal or Parents & Bubs classes. For further information, please download and have a read of our Pre and Post Natal Exercise at KX Information Sheet.
In many cases, yes. KX Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise, and our trainers can often provide modifications to help you move safely. Before attending, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider to ensure group reformer Pilates is appropriate for you and to understand any movements you should avoid.
Our trainers are exercise professionals, not healthcare practitioners, so they cannot diagnose injuries or prescribe rehabilitation. Please let your trainer know about any injuries or medical conditions before class. As KX is a group training environment, there may be times when you'll need to work within your healthcare provider's recommendations while your trainer supports other members of the class.
Parking availability varies by studio location. Check your studio's page for specific parking information and directions.
The Intro Offer is only available to new clients of KX (first timers) and is activated from the date of your first booking.
You can only use the Intro offer once per person and this cannot be used in conjunction with any other opening offer.
If you're new to reformer Pilates or looking to refresh your foundations, we recommend starting with a Basics class. This is your starting point to learn the KX Pilates method and build confidence on the reformer. Guided by your trainer, each class introduces movement patterns, structure and technique through clear, step-by-step programming designed to support your progress.
If you've already attended a handful of reformer classes, you may also choose to begin with Signature - our open-level class designed to meet you where you're at.
Just bring yourself, a water bottle, and a towel, everything else is provided, including the reformer and any props used in class. Grip socks may be required, so check ahead, and if you don't have a pair, you can buy them at the studio.
Arrive 10 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, meet your trainer, and get a quick run-through of the reformer before class starts.
Turning up late to your first class means you might miss the run-through, so we recommend building in the extra time.
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident to move in, that's the only rule. Most people go for leggings or shorts with a t-shirt or singlet, but there's no dress code at KX Pilates.
Some studios require grip socks, so check your local studio page before you come in. If you don't have any, the studio will have them available for you to purchase.
Yes you can, however you will need to create a new account at each studio separately, and purchase a valid session pack for each studio individually.
We ask that you wait until after you receive the all clear from your 6 week GP/Obstetrician check up to make sure that everything is healing well and there are no diastasis recti (abdominal separation) issues.
You can only attend group pilates classes up until you’re 13 weeks along. Before booking your first group class, please contact your local studio for a list of qualified pre and post-natal Trainers. You must inform your Trainer what week you are up to at the beginning of each class, as modifications of certain exercises will be required. You must also have your Obstetrician complete the Pregnancy Authorisation to Exercise Form and return it to us upon arrival at your first class.
For further information, please download and have a read of our Pre and Post Natal Exercise at KX Information Sheet.
Please wait until you have received the all clear from your 6 week check-up. Complete the Post Natal Exercise Questionnaire and bring it to your first class. It is also strongly recommended that whenever you start back at KX Pilates after a break; ensure you begin again in a Beginner class.
For further information, please download and have a read of our Pre and Post Natal Exercise at KX Information Sheet.
For safety and insurance reasons, children (including babies) are not permitted in the studio or reception area during classes.
Select studios offer dedicated Parents & Bubs classes for those with newborns up to crawling age, so we recommend checking with your local studio for availability.
Classes need a minimum of 2 clients to proceed. Classes will be cancelled up to 2 hours before the start time of the class if there are less than 2 people booked in.
With a maximum of 14 clients per class, our classes can get booked out. We recommend adding yourself to the wait list for that class by booking yourself into the class as you would normally. Once you add yourself to a wait list, you'll receive an email confirmation of your request. When a place becomes available in the class you will be notified via sms or email.
To ensure fairness for all clients and to allow those on the wait list an opportunity to attend a class, once notified, you will have two hours to reply using the link supplied in the SMS or email.
If you do not respond withing the two hour window, or decline your place, you will be removed from the wait list and the place will be offered to the next KXer on the wait list. If you confirm your place you'll receive another notification confirming your place.
All of our classes include a warm up and a cool down. If you are more than 5 minutes late to your class then you may not be able to join, and your Trainer may turn you away from the class.
